Quick Facts
Two-Way Cutting Action Stainless Steel Blade Fast Surface Weeding Long Ashwood Handle

Ryset GD661 Stainless Steel Oscillating Hoe is a long-handled two-way scuffle hoe designed for fast and efficient removal of weeds from garden beds, vegetable gardens and cultivated soil. The oscillating head changes angle as the tool is pushed and pulled, allowing the blade to work just beneath the soil surface and undercut weeds on both strokes.

Unlike a conventional hoe that relies mainly on a chopping or pulling action, the GD661 works with a continuous back-and-forth movement. This makes it particularly effective for maintaining larger garden beds and regularly removing young weeds before they become established.

Benefits:
  • Cuts weeds on both the forward and backward stroke
  • Oscillating head adjusts the blade angle as you work
  • Undercuts weeds just below the soil surface
  • Fast and efficient for maintaining larger garden beds
  • Long handle allows weeding from a comfortable standing position
  • Polished stainless steel blade for durability and rust resistance
  • Ash hardwood handle provides strength and comfortable control
  • Ideal for chemical-free weed management
How the Oscillating Hoe Works:

The blade pivots as the hoe changes direction. On the forward stroke it angles into the upper soil surface, then changes angle as the tool is pulled back towards you. This allows the cutting edge to undercut weeds in both directions rather than having a working stroke and a return stroke.

The shallow cutting action is particularly useful for regular garden maintenance, allowing young weeds to be removed with minimal disturbance to the surrounding soil.

Ideal For:
  • Vegetable gardens
  • Garden beds and borders
  • Rows of vegetables and other crops
  • Young and emerging weeds
  • Regular surface weeding
  • Chemical-free weed control
How to Use:

Position the blade flat against the soil surface and move the hoe backwards and forwards using smooth, controlled strokes. Allow the oscillating head to change angle naturally as you change direction.

For best results, work the blade through the upper surface of the soil so it passes beneath young weeds and cuts them from their roots. Regular use while weeds are small makes garden-bed maintenance considerably easier and reduces the need for deeper soil disturbance.
